The dreamlike visions of Julia Hetta

It has always seemed to me that Swedish photographer Julia Hetta‘s subjects inhabit a world somewhere between waking and dreaming. Minute details are observed and everything has it’s place, but, like sleepwalkers, we can only attempt to decipher the symbols as they are revealed to us without explanation or comment. Out Of Context is, therefore, an apt title for her new book, and accompanying exhibition, as she leaves the fashion world behind to delve even deeper into the unsettling but beautiful world of her imagination. Luckily for us it’s an inspiring place to visit.

The exhibition runs until May 21st 2016 at Grundemark Nilsson Gallery in Stockholm
